The Smart Pots are made of a polypropylene non-woven tissue. The specific consistence of the structure gives the Smart Pots important characteristics that make them unique for the health of the plants and for the abundance of the harvest. Here it is some advantages derived from the use of Smart Pots instead of other containers made of plastic, terracotta and ceramic, raised bed farming or decorative containers made of hard materials:
> The best solution for the health of the roots
Smart Pots give the plants a habitat that is similar to the natural one, they facilitate a luxuriant and graceful growth of the roots. Inside the pots and the hard containers, the roots reach the walls during their growth and they keep on growing roundly looking for a more favourable environment. In this way the roots grow near the walls and they are weaker, sparse and have a very poor ramification, because the clod envelops a tangled barrier.

At the contrary, the Smart Pots are air pots. Their extremely porous structure allows to naturally prune the roots next to the walls, thanks to the contact with the air, so they permit to avoid the process of "spiralization", that occurs in hard containers. The structure of the roots develops in a very rich ramification (as in the land farming), with bigger mass and volume, allowing a more healthy growth, with more flowers and fruits, and a major resistance to insects and illnesses.

The black tissue of the Smart Pots warms rapidly the interior of the pot when the temperature is still very low, so, at the end of the winter and at the beginning of the spring, they allow a faster growth of the plants.
Thanks to its porous nature, the non-woven tissue allows the heat to exit from the container through the evaporative cooling during the hottest summer days, reducing the thermal stress caused by the excessive exposure to the sun.

The non-woven tissue which constitutes the Smart Pots permits a perfect water drainage. Indeed, unlike the pots made of terracotta and plastic, excess water pours out of the surface of the containers, reducing the risk of fungi and root rot. Therefore, vegetables and ornamental plants will grow up healthy and luxuriant;

Unlike the pots made of plastic and terracotta, the Smart Pots are unalterable when they are exposed to the atmospheric agents. They are frost, heat, water and sunlight resistant. Smart Pots remain intact for a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 10 years.

Unlike the other kinds of containers, the Smart Pots allow the so-called "pocket-planting", that is the farming not only on the upper surface, but also through the walls and the bottom of the container. That permits to considerably increase the capacity of our containers production (up to 75%).
